A Texas Native
Dr. Van Tassell was born in Bryan, Texas. Though he spent much of his young life in Wyoming and Idaho, he has long wanted to move back to the land of his birth, which he did almost as soon as he graduated from dental school, moving to Burkburnett, Texas.
A Passionate Dental Student
Dr. Van Tassell was intrigued by dentistry since he was in high school. This is partly due to the mentorship of his family dentist, who let young Dustin shadow him around the office because of the young man’s insatiable curiosity about dentistry. When Dr. Van Tassell had to have two root canal treatments performed on his front teeth after a basketball injury, his dentist let him watch in a mirror.
His curiosity and passion about dentistry drive him still.
An Award-Winning Dentist
Dr. Van Tassell’s passion was partly encouraged by his talent for dentistry. When passion and talent combine, outstanding results occur. So it’s not a surprise that Dr. Van Tassell was one of only eight pre-dental students to be chosen for the Idaho Dental Education Program, which allowed him to attend Creighton University. He was selected by the faculty to be part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.
In addition, while at Creighton, he was awarded for his achievements in prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and endodontics. After being on the Dean’s List for all four years, Dr. Van Tassell graduated Magna Cum Laude.
However, his dental degree didn’t represent the end of his dental education. Since then, Dr. Van Tassell has trained extensively at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. He is also continually advancing his skills in dental implants, making him a trusted choice for patients seeking implant solutions in Wichita Falls.

A Church going Family Man
